Privacy Policy

GharBell values user privacy and data security. This is how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Introduction

GharBell ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the GharBell mobile application and associated services.

By using GharBell, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2. Information We Collect

We strictly limit the data we collect to what is essential for the functionality of our digital doorbell service.

Account Information: We collect your name, email address, or phone number solely for account creation, authentication, and secure communication.

Device & Technical Data: We collect your device model, operating system version, and a secure push notification token (such as FCM or APNs) to ensure reliable delivery of doorbell alerts to your device.

QR Interaction Data: When a visitor scans a GharBell QR code, we log the timestamp and the specific door identifier to send the notification to the correct user.

Data We DO NOT Collect: We explicitly DO NOT collect, track, or store the approximate or precise geographic location (GPS) of your devices, nor do we collect the location of the visitors scanning the QR codes. We do not access your contacts, microphone, or camera unless explicitly required for a specific in-app feature, and only with your explicit runtime consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the GharBell service, including delivering instant visitor notifications to your device.

To manage your account and provide customer support.

To monitor app performance, detect crashes, and improve the overall user experience.

To enforce our terms, prevent fraudulent activity, and ensure the security of our platform.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties or advertisers.

We employ trusted third-party service providers solely to facilitate our service. These include Google Firebase (for authentication, cloud messaging, and crash reporting) and Apple Push Notification service. These providers have access to your personal information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

You have the absolute right to delete your data. You can delete individual doorbell records, scan histories, or your entire account directly from within the GharBell app settings. Upon account deletion, all associated personal data is permanently purged from our active production systems within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. All data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS, and sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will immediately delete such information from our servers.
